Works great

These boots are very comfortable on land and provide good protection. I haven't noticed any issues when using a flutter kick, but when frog kicking with my RK3 fins, both of my heels start to get chafed on the inside corners. I think it may be coming from the zipper area. This isn't really a complaint with the boot itself — it's a quality product and well made — just something to be aware of depending on your fin choice and kicking style.

Some serious cold water dive boots!

Just finished a dive trip in to the great lakes and didn't have time to get dry suit certified so i bulked up my neoprene. I combined these with the BARE bootie liners and in 40 degree fahrenheit water my feet stayed very comfortable. If your diving in water that cold I would still strongly recommend a dry suit, but if you're willing to brave the cold waters in a wetsuit these are the boots for you. Very sturdy sole, incredibly warm, and comfortable to wear. 10/10

Sizing is different

I normally wear a size 11 shoe when I purchase through On, the Swiss company, but the size 11 boot was too big. These boots are a little narrow for my foot, but they are the correct length. It would seem that water boots are made smaller than normal shoe guides.

Awesome boots! But watch your fin pocket size.

These are awesome boots, but beware of your fin pocket size. The thick soles definitely take up more room. That said, I love the quality and the comfort. I have the 7mm for cold water Lake Michigan and early season diving, and just bought the 5mm for inland summer lake shore diving. I did find the 7mm to be a bit floaty. But if you wear heavier fins, that shouldn’t be an issue. These are a little on the pricey side, but you definitely get what you pay for. I haven’t had cold feet with either boot. I had the 7mm down to about 43°. And the 5mm down to 48. I generally wear a size 12 sneaker, but found the size 11 in these boots fit well. Awesome boots! Watch your fit in pocket size though. I am using these with Mares Avanti Quattro Plus fins in size size XL.

Awesome soles!

My new Scuba boots fit so comfortably, and the soles are the best! I can walk over rocks in the rivers I raft in Oregon!

Super warm and insulated -- but this means I need new fins

I bought a pair of Cressi 7mm boots, which are slightly tight, so I got these to wear with socks. Unfortunately, it means I need new fins as these are far wider than my other boots. Should I return these or buy new fins? It's not like I scuba all that often...

You won't be disappointed

I have purchased another brand of scuba boots and was not happy with the soles being too thin. These scuba volts are perfect and the soles really protect the bottoms of my feet when walking on rocks. They are quite warm and my feet do not get cold in 60 degree water temps. I am a female that wears a size 8 regularly in shoes. The size 6 in these boots is exactly what I needed.

Pull the trigger. (They fit very large, get at least one size down)

I wear 8.5 regular for my normal footwear. Bought an 8 for this pair and they are large for me. I would go down at least one size when you buy these. And you should buy them. I've used these boots on several long military dives (one was 5+ hours in the water.) After about 20 total dives i think they are great quality boots. Very warm in low 50s degree water to my comfort, and rigid enough to protect from jagged sharp terrain like coral. Also nice to walk around in so you dont need to take them off between dives, they feel sort of like normal footwear.

Great boot,runs big

Great boot with plenty of warmth. Used them for a 2hr, 44° water temp day of swimming. Never felt cold on my feet. They definately run at least a size bigger then stated. I wear a men's 10, purchased a men's 9 and still had room!

Perfect insulation

Fantastic boots! Wearing them to walk long distances on the beach at low tide, and my feet stay absolutely dry and warm. Miraculous! Ordered another one for my daughter.

Sizing

Sizes are a size big. I bought a 13 and it's too big. Still wear them though.

Just what I wanted!

These boots are great! I am noticing that most of my wetsuit diving gear is Bare brand. They make good quality and comfortable gear. I wear these while diving SE Alaska, where rocks and shells, and so forth would undoubtedly cut through a standard wet or standard drysuit bootie. Having a boot with a heavy sole, like this one, is a must. And it fits into my fins with ease.

Too Big - Even after ordering a size down!

I am normally a size 13 US, in Dockers, Rockports, Brooks, New Balance. After reading the reviews I thought I would order a size 12 US. This boot is the right width for me, but at least one size too long. Probably two, if I were barfeoot. Currently there is plenty of length for a thick heavy wool sock, and would still slide around. The toe box is plenty wide, sort of bulbous. These also won't fit my fins, which I am not surprised. I knew I would have to change fins when I started looking at a thick soled boot. Unfortunately these will have to go back.

Awesome comfort but they size BIG

Quite possibly the best built and most comfortable 5mm boot you’ll find. Unbelievably warm and comfy with very clean design. I’m a true 10.5 but had to order a second pair in 9 to get the right fit. Check the Euro sizes, those are accurate.

These boots are great

I use them actually for kayaking and for river clearing/maintenance. Not only do they keep your feet warm, they actually fit so well they keep both sand and mud out from reaching your feet. Very comfortable, great grip when climbing over slippery submerged tree trunks and limbs. The offer your feet a lot of protection. These are much better than your typical water shoes.
