Fins that last forever

My favorite scuba fins. Will last forever. Metal spring band is perfect

Fits large

Hollis website recommends the XL for size 10-13 shoe (I'm 10 1/2 or 11). The fin was big enough for an NBA basketball player! I'm exchanging for a smaller size. It was shipped way fast and I am very happy with the quality and build

Fins

I recently picked up a pair of scuba fins and they've completely changed my diving experience for the better. From the first dive, I noticed how effortlessly I was able to move through the water. The fins provided excellent propulsion with minimal leg fatigue—even after a long dive. The foot pocket is snug but comfortable, and I didn't experience any rubbing or blisters, even without booties. The adjustable straps are solid and easy to tighten or loosen, even with gloves on. These fins cut through the water with ease. Whether I was flutter kicking or using frog kicks in tighter spaces, they responded instantly. I felt much more in control, especially when fighting a current or trying to stay still for underwater photography. They feel durable but not overly heavy. The blades are made of a flexible yet tough material that seems like it'll last for years. I've bumped them on coral and rocks a few times and there's barely a scratch. They fit easily in my dive bag and dry quickly after use, which is a big plus when traveling. If you're serious about diving and want a pair of fins that combine comfort, efficiency, and durability, these are a solid choice. I'd recommend them to both beginner and advanced divers alike. Worth every penny.

Excellent travel fins...

I recently used these in a local quarry on a test run and will be taking them to Bonaire later this summer. One interesting point discovered during that trip is that these fins are slightly positively buoyant in fresh water. I expect that it will be even more buoyant in salt water. The outcome of the test was that these work very well as a "travel fin" and would be really nice for a reef or a wall. They are underpowered so I will not be taking them into heavy surge or wreck diving off the NC coast. I am fine with their limitations as I plan to use them in my scuba kit for Caribbean travel and use other fins for challenging environs. These fins are 20" long and fit perfectly in the "Aqualung Departure" travel kit (as they are the same length as "hotshot" fins). I prefer these to hotshots as the F2 is a stiffer "vented" design and is not "floppy". The stiff vented design gives good performance and allows helicopter turns and swimming in reverse. Floppy fins are great for cruising but not so much for photography or other dives where maneuvering is important.

Great fins for travelling & tech

If you're used to diving with full-capability fins that allow you to do the more complex kicks that tech/cave divers do (frog, helicopter, reverse) but you don't want to lug along your big and heavy fins (Scubapro Jets, Hollis F1s) on vacation, then these fins are perfect for you. After doing much research on this, it appears that these are the only fins on the market that are (a) sufficiently small and lightweight to travel with but (b) have full diving capability. These fins are just a little bit shorter and narrower than a Scubapro Jet fin BUT that inch or two difference makes a huge difference in travel capability. I can actually fit these fins inside a carry-on bag! (21"x9"x14") They also weigh less than 4 pounds for the pair, compared to almost 8 lbs for my Jets. I couldn't find a good size chart anywhere but the regular size seems good for men in the 7-10 shoe size range, women in the 9-12 range. The spring strap on these fins is adjustable with a screwdriver, which was really easy to do. There seems to be sufficient room in the foot cup that you could fit a pair of drysuit boots in here without a problem. I love that they have included the spring straps in the base price of these. Great purchase!

Great fins, perfect for travel

Bought these because the original fins they are based on had great reviews from a scuba gear comparison website. These appear better than the originals because they're held on by springs instead of straps and are super easy to put on while on a dive boat in full gear and even easier to take off in the water so you can toss them on the boat before climbing the ladder. They're also really fast in the water, almost as fast as my top of the line Apollo bio-fins, But the best part of all is the weight and size. They're shorter and much lighter than standard fins so they're easy to walk in, carry, and pack. The Apollo Bio-fins on the other hand were long and super heavy and difficult to maneuver on the boat (they were also a pain in the butt to pull off). In summary, very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend to any diver that prefers to wear boots when diving.

Great for diving

I've been diving with Hollis F-2s for many years. It's shorter that many, and I found it takes less effort to go the same distance underwater as my larger fins. Plus it lighter weight and fits better in standard-sized checked luggage. But I lost one fin at the end of a shore dive in choppy water. I found these on Amazon, and now I have three Hollis F-2s.
